I encourage you to check this out for this and other families. My (Dianne) great grandfather, Michael Zieske was born 26 Sep 1846 in Ascherbude, Czarnikau, Posen, Prussia. His father is Gottlieb Zieske, mother is Anna Rosina Arnd. Michael is my grandfather, Edward W. Zieske's father. Michael Zieske's father, Gottlieb Zieske died in Ascherbude on 1 Oct 1852 at 38 years, 9 months and 1 day. As part of Gottlieb's Ascherbude death record, Gottlieb's wife, Anna Rosina Arnd is alive at the time. Gottlieb's mother is named in the death record: Anna Christina Serchow (possible alternate V or J first letter). Gottlieb's father is Johann Zieske. Gottlieb and Michael Zieske born 1816 (wife is Anna Christina Schulz) are brothers and so Michael Zieske born 1846 is a nephew of Michael Zieske born 1816. After Gottlieb Zieske died in 1852, his widow, Anna Rosina Arnd, remarried in 1855 to Wilhelm Matz, also of Ascherbude. They had additional children.
