| This combination of pictures proves that my father and this man, John H. Svensen, met in Norway at Hurdal Church. You see, the paper this man holds in his hand is a copy of another page on my WEB site, a page developed years before Atle Rønning sent me an Email and many years after my father, Roy H. Matson, died in 1979. The picture of my father and the young man was taken in 1976 on my father's 2nd and final visit to Norway and Hurdal Church. The young man with my father is this man, Rector John H. Svensen. Atle Rønning knew of the Hurdal Rector, went to see him and took this picture. Rector John H. Svensen said that, yes, the 1976 picture appears to be taken after the church service. Atle Rønning relates that in his talking with Rector John H. Svensen, the Rector does not recall the visit with my father thirty years ago. He said that he as Rector has many such meetings with Americans who have relatives and ancestors from Hurdal. Rector John H. Svensen was the pastor (rector) in Hurdal from 1971 until he was seventy years old in December 1993. From 1993 until he was eighty years old he would substitute for other pastors in the region. In effect he was full-time employed until age eighty. Editor's note: Rector John H.
