Died 1 Jan 1907, Beaver Dam, WI (Parents are Michael Zieski (Ziske) & Anna Maria Krenz) +1st Wife: Louise Steinke: Children: Ludwig "Lewis" Ziske born 26 Jul 1848 in Putzig; Michael Ziske born 13 Sep 1849 in Putzig; August Ziske born 7 Dec 1850 in Putzig. Children Church Records: MARRIAGE RECORD (1st Marriage for Johann and likely also for Louise Steinke) *ZISKE | STEINKE +Marriage: 12 Feb 1847 Johann Ziske age 26 & Louise Steinke age 19 The bachelor, Johann Ziske, son of deceased farmer Michael Ziske from Putzig was married in the church with the young woman, Louise Steinke, daughter of the deceased farmer Martin Steinke in Stieglitz. The groom was unmarried and indepependant, the bride was likewise unmarried and under guardianship. The groom is age 26; the bride is age 19. The religion of the bridegroom and bride is evangelisch. Consent for the bride (was given at) Schönlanke (on) 15 January 1847. Note: Family Find. Fasbender. this is Johann Ziske (Zieski) of the Fasbender Zieski group. This record is a translation by Ken Neumann. This marriage was in Stieglitz, the traditional location being the brides home area. This record is in Runau Parish which at the time included: Runau, Stieglitz, Putzig and Putzighauland. The bride’s (deceased) father lived in Stieglitz. Ken Neumann adds, “Schönlanke was a major city in the region and probably had a court or judge where the bride could receive the consent to get married. Sometimes marriage records will mention a court or judge specifically, but here there is only the place and date, not precisely who gave the consent.” FHL 0808118: 1846-1847: Vol 2: Page 47: Line 3: Protestant Records of Stieglitz Pictures 4952-4957 taken 8 February 2008 Louise Steinke Records: BIRTH RECORD: *STEINKE | WARNKE Birth: 12 Mar 1828 Baptism: 16 Mar 1828 Louise Steinke Parents: Martin Steinke & Rosina Warnke Sponsors: Christine Vielhaber and Junggesell (bachelor) Peter Warnke Note: Family Find, Fasbender. This is very likely Louise Steinke who married Johann Ziske (Zieski) of the Fasbender Zieski on 12 Feb 1847 in Stieglitz. The sponsor, Peter Warnke is a bachelor and therefore is not Peter Warnke, father of Gottlieb born 6 April 1828 in a later record. Warnke Note: Family Find. Fasbender. This is very likely the death of the 1st wife of Johann Ziske, son of Michael Zieski & Anna Maria Krenz. There are inconsistencies. In her marriage to Johann Ziske and at her birth, her father’s name is Martin, not Michael. He is deceased at her marriage. But her mother’s name is correct here and at birth. Two possibilities: Michael or Martin could be a middle name for her father, or, the father named here could be Rosina Warnke’s husband after Louise’s father, Martin. But, this is Louise, wife of Johann Ziske. She appears to have died as result of child birth and so also the child (see record 1855 Aug 13 above). Johann Zieske remarries on 6 Jan 1856 to Anna Rosina Breutkreutz (record below).
