| This series of pictures is of Lucia Harriet "Hattie" Baker and her husband, John Zieske. His parents are Johann Zieski & Beata Luise Breitkreutz of Dodge County, Wisconsin.. Her parents are Josiah Baker & Anna Maria Canfield of Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesoa.. Hattie and John were married on 10 July 1884 at Clarissa, Eagle Valley township, Todd County, MN.. Born 28 Apr 1864, he was just under age 20; born 15 May 1860, Hattie was just under age 24. Family knows the age of John in these pictures. We can't be sure of Hattie's age. But with her picture being taken in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, it would be interesting to know the date. The picture of John at age 18 (straight above) was taken in Glencoe, MN. That therefore places him in Minnesota at that age. The photograper has the name, N. Hassan. This picture places John in the area of both the Josiah Baker and Wilhelm Zieske families about two years prior to his marriage to Hattie Baker. So the question is, if John worked in Minnesota before his marriage to Hattie, who did he work for? And, how did he get there? Why did he leave Wisconsin before or about age 18 and did he go to someone he or his parents knew in Minnesota? I think he did go to someone family knew. What do you think?
