Mable Nelson Thompson and her sister, Lillian Nelson Primus were students at Norseville School in 1924. Depending upon when the 1924 Norseville School Class Picture was taken, fall or spring, Mable was eleven or twelve years old and her sister, Lilllian, was thirteen.

Norseville School was closed after the last class year, 1949-50. The school was sold and later abandoned. But memories live on with former students of this country school. Here is one such picture account of a return visit by a Norseville School student.

Mable Nelson Thompson, her daughters, Susan Thompson Stump and Gretchen Thompson Carter and son, Rob Thompson, returned to the site of Norseville School in May 2010. Both Mable and her sister, Lillian Nelson Primus, were in school together and are in the 1924 Norseville School Class picture. On this return visit, Mable is merely days from celebrating her 98th birthday!

A full account of the trip back to Norseville and Strum is with Susan Thompson Stump, her sister, Gretchen Thompson Carter, brother, Rob Thompson and, of course, their mother, Mable.
