| The picture of this man (upper left) could be: Johann Zieski b. 1820, husband of Beata Luise Breitkreutz; or Michael Breitkreutz b. abt 1795, husband of Anna Rosina Pulseus (parents of Luise Breitkreutz); or Michael Zieski b. abt 1795, husband of Anna Maria Krenz (parents of Johann Zieski); or John Zieski (Zieske) b. 1864, husband of Lucia Hattie Baker. John Zieski (Zieske), husband of Lucia Hattie Baker died at in 1935 in Minnesota at about age 71. The age might fit. But the clothing is not 1935. This is also not Michael Breitkreutz unless someone made an error in identification of him as a Zieske, Grandpa Zieske. That leaves the possibility of Johann Zieski, husband of Beata Luise Breitkreutz and Michael Zieski, husband of Anna Maria Krenz. Unless someone pasted this picture on a Beaver Dam, Wisconsin photographer's picture board, this picture was taken in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Family has no knowledge of Michael Zieski, husband of Anna Maria Krenz being in America or Wisconsin. If this is accurate, then this man must be Johann Zieski, husband of Beata Luise Breitkreutz. Johann Zieski was born in 1820 in Prussia, likely, Putzig as did other siblings, and died in Wisconsin on 1 Jan 1907 at age 86. While the clothing seems more old country than late 19th Century Wisconsin, this picture is very likely of Johann. It appears that three separate people wrote the information on the back of the picture. A possibility is that "J Zieskie" was written first; "For Lewises Jack", second; and "Great Granpa Zieske", third. The "Wheatlan(d)" may be part of "For Lewises Jack", or, it may have been written separately. Regardless, it appears that at some point this picture was intended for someone who had a great grandpa Zieske. Johann died in Fox Lake twp, Dodge County, Wisconsin on January 1, 1907. Beata Luise was born in 1839 in Putzig, Czarnikau, Posen, Prussia, and died in Fox Lake twp, Dodge County, Wisconsin on 8 June 1908. | If the man in the upper left picture above is Johann Zieski and the woman in the upper right picture is his wife, Beata Louise Breitkreutz, both in later years, then the couple on the left is likely them earlier in life, about middle age. Who then is the child? Their first child, Mary, was born 1858 in Wisconsin when Beata Louise was age 19 and Johann age 38 and their last in 1873. She might be age 34 and he age 53 in this picture. The handwriting on this picture says "Grand Dad" over Johann; perhaps Grandmother Beata over her; and Granddater (daughter), maybe, above the child, a girl. |
