| We are across the bridge now and looking back toward the lake from the west entrance to Woodland Park. Do you recall the earlier view from the Eide hill? Look through the left side of the large tree on the left, above the lake and near the top of the green area at the horizon. That is where the Eide hill picture was taken. The bridge you just crossed is to the left, follow the side walk along the lake and you run into the bridge. Across the lake, on the left, is St. Paul's Cemetery. The swimming beach is just in front of you and the picnic and play area to the right. Notice the floating raft for swimmers. People come from all over the area to enjoy this park. Lots of shade and sun, your choice. Note that main street in Strum is 5th Avenue. The entrance to the park, Robbe Parkway, is named for a long standing Strum family and business owner. There are many such, but this one still owns and operates Robbe's Store which has a long history of retail clothing and grocery commerce. What a view! |
