Cora Wingad Research as of 11 October 2002:

The following information was researched at the Strum, Wisconsin Library by Eunice Nelson:
Hamlin Cemetery Marker Information
WINGAD Family Name:
Albert (Husb. Of Catherine Warner Wingad) 1866-1938
Catherine (wife) 1872-1923
John (Son) 25 Oct 1905-2 Jan 1909
Hezekiah J. (Son) 10 Oct 1869-19 Dec 1908
Ida A. Died 13 jan 1882 (Daughter of J&F Winhad) Age: 12 Yrs
John (Son of Albert) 2 Feb 1829-8 Nov 1912 (Co. K 33 Inf GAR)
David (Frank’s Father) 1822-1906 (Co G 11 WIS Inf GAR)
Margaret L. (Wife of David) 26 Sep 1838-6 Jul 1915 [See link for Margaret's 1st marriage and parents]
Frank G. 1872-1938
Margaret (Warner) 1875-1955 (Wife of Frank G. Wingad)
Robert (Bro. Of Frank) 1858-1915

Now, we also know that both David and John were born in Lincolnshire, England. David came to America in 1842, going to Pittsbury, Penn. Later on to Iowa and then in 1873 to Trempealeau County, Albion Township. John came to America in 1852 and lived in Unity Township. The John Wingad park was established along the river from his farm. This park had a grove of trees, a road and a picnic area. Reports are that it was well kept.

This is how I think this information may play out. I can‘t explain Ida or who J&F are:

Father:  David (Frank’s Father) 1822-1906 (Co G 11 WIS Inf GAR)
Mother:  * wife: Margaret L. (Wife of David) 26 Sep 1838-6 Jul 1915 [
See link above for Margaret b 1838]
Their children:  Robert (Bro. Of Frank) 1858-1915
Albert (Husb. Of Catherine Warner Wingad) 1866-1938
  * wife: Catherine (wife) 1872-1923
Child: John (Son) 25 Oct 1905-2 Jan 1909
Cora born 1868 but not included in the information above. Died in Iowa.
  Hezekiah J. (Son) 10 Oct 1869-19 Dec 1908
  Frank G. 1872-1938
  * wife: Margaret (Warner) 1875-1955 (Wife of Frank G. Wingad)

Why do I believe this is a possibility worth testing:

1. The two civil war Wingad brothers are probably John and David, not John & Fred.    Frederick could be a middle name for David, or just an error. A Google.com search also    results in no Fred.
2. We know that Frank’s father is David and that Frank and Robert are brothers.
3. One child‘s birth, Albert‘s, could be in question  because David was in the Civil War. But, we don’t know how long he was there and his wife could have been expecting    well before he left.  We do know that the next child, Cora, comes after the war.
4. One might question David (born 1822) being the father of Frank G. (born 1872). But his   wife,
Margaret, was born in 1838 and would have been only 34 at Frank G.’s birth.
5. John, the other Civil War Vet, (Son of a man called Albert but not Albert born in 1866) and brother of David, may not have married.
6. Albert’s (born 1866) wife, Catherine Warner, and Frank G.’s wife, Margaret Warner, could easily have been sisters. That was not uncommon to have double marriages.
7. John (born 1829)’s father was Albert; Albert would have been David born 1822’s uncle; and this could explain naming a child of his, Albert (born 1866).
