| 18 September 2001: Thanks to my friend Leroy Madson of the Toten Lag, the unnamed daughter of Mads Larsen & Oline Christoffersdatter, now has a name: Karine. Karine Madsdtr Hoelseie. Leroy viewed the record in a different microfilm. Again, thanks to Leroy, it is clear now that Christian Svendsen, a son of Mads Larsen and Oline Christoffersdatter, was, in fact, a foster child, a pleiebarn (in norwegian). He was born to Svend Johannesen & Elene Johansdtr Bjerkestuen. Svend or Elene could be a relative. Something happended with Svend, Elene, or both. I have added three new pictures to the site, thanks to my cousin Gary Matson: Helfred back from fishing; and two pictures of the grandchildren of Helfred and Mary, one in 1944, the other in 1948. I still believe that Syver may have also had a sister named Oline, but have not yet found her in Parish records. Fred Matson |
