| The following pictures are provided compliments of Mark Holte, son of Herb, Grandson of Mark & Florence Holte. The Strum Baseball Team picture in 1948 is self explanitory. The names are listed. Note that the back row begins with the man (Laurie Bergerson) to the right of the pole and just to our right of him, barely visible, is the 2nd ballplayer. There are 9 guys in the back row including the ump. The front row sarts on the left. Three Holte boys are in this picture: Herb, Wayne "Sprut", and Rick. The other boys are as familiar to many. |

| The Tri-County News article on the left appeared in January 1946 according to the note on the account. Herb Holte is the lucky boy. Roy H. Matson is the Trempealeau County Clerk who paid the boy $20 bounty on behalf of the county. Roy is also a rural Strum resident, living in the County Seat of Whitehall, Wisconsin at the time. On the above right we have a picture of the 1936 combined (1st 2nd and 3rd grades) class of the Strum State Graded School. This is the Primary Room. The names are recently provided by Laurie Bergerson, one of the students. The teacher is Helen Robbe, sister of Marshall Robbe. The children have turned toward the back of the room to have their picture taken (note the position of the desks).The children are identified in this picture by desk rows.
