Looking Northeast in Downtown Strum, Wisconsin on 26 December 1914.
This is downtown Strum, Wisconsin. It is 26 December 1914 and we are looking at the east side of Main Street in a north-north easterly direction. The Main Street ran north and south and it does also today.

Every building on the east side of this street and south side (this side) of the large brick building, all the way to the railroad tracks and the Strum Depot, was destroyed by the fire. The devastation covers about double of what you see in this picture.

This picture is in "A History of Strum and the Town of Unity", by Roy Matson:
The 1914 Fires. The chapter describes the fire in detail.
