| Strum Shoemaker Harry Jacobson |
| Harry farmed south of Strum and later in life retired and moved to the Village of Strum where he plopped himself down at the intersection of Maple Street and 5th Avenue (that's is the main street in Strum), south of where the tracks used to be, to become the local shoemaker. And a good one he was. He looked and played the role of the good ol fashioned shoemaker and used good ol fashioned well oiled equipment to meet the task. Just like the blacksmith shop to the south of him could fix nearly any implement, so also could Harry solve most any leather problem. He seldom was alone at his job, others were there to talk and carry on a card game or two. Please Email me above with a more complete story on this man and a date for this picture if you know. |
