| This picture was provided to me compliments of Atle Rønning of Oslo, Norway, formerly of Hurdal. A Norway relative of Edward Ronning saw him, probably in the United States, before Edward's death in 1985. This picture may or may not have been taken at that time. This picture was likely taken in the United States of America and very likely in the state of Minnesota, probably in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Twin Cities metropolitan area. Edward and his wife whom I don't know by name at this time, lived in the metro area. Edward Ronning, born in the United States, western Minnesota, is a son of Anton & Dora (Dorthea. Her last name is being researched.) Rønning who came to America in 1892. Anton is Atle Rønning's great grandfather on his father's side. Atle's grandfather on his father's side of the family is Axsel Rønning born 1892. Edward has three siblings to our knowledge: Arthur born 1895; Cora born 1896; and Inga born 1898. We know that at least some of these also migrated from western Minnesota where they were born (Willmar, Boyd, Montevideo area or Watertown, South Dakota area) to the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area. Their father, Anton, appears to have been a railroad worker, a boiler maker. Edward is listed in the 1920 Minnesota census as working as a Brakeman in the railroad industry.
